QUAMED was honoured to participate in a high-level round table hosted by Enabel, and in presence of Minister Kitir on May 6.
Participants spanning the Belgian life sciences, academic research and development-cooperation ecosystem contemplated potential contributions and added value that Belgium can bring to scaling up the production capacity of vaccines, medicines and medical products in Africa.
Important to note, the Belgian Government has been a role model in fostering quality assurance by placing consistent emphasis on quality standards for all health products – as embodied in the 2017 Policy “Commitment to Quality Assurance for Pharmaceutical Products. Support to grow capabilities and expertise in quality assurance, in concert with regulatory system strengthening, will serve to bolster local manufacturing prowess and sustainability.
Belgium is in a strong position to contribute to the #TeamEurope Initiative for Local Manufacturing and Global Access to Vaccines and Medicines.
